Personal profile

I left school at 16 to study music at a dedicated music college for 3 years and 1 year of study at the South African Musicians Institute. I've founded the band 4Q (rockband). Our first demo single (Keep on Rollin) reached #2 on the local University Top 20 charts. Shortly thereafter our vocalist Marcel Julyan died in a car crash. This was a major setback for the whole band. We didn't loose just a vocalist but also a dear friend. We decided to take a break. After 6 months I regrouped the band with Kel Makhaye as vocalist and a session drummer & bassist. We apporached Stuart Epps (UK) to produce our debut album. Unfortunately 2 songs into the recording process, my ways parted with Kel Makhaye due to his personal responsibilities. I did an 8 month stint as lead guitarist for the local glam band, L.A. Cobra. I've changed the name 4Q Rockband to PHYNIXX and sessioned for Dino Jelusic (first junior Eurovision winner) on his new album during his visit to South Africa. He also re-tracked the vocals on two songs, namely I'm Hoping and Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n Roll. I'm currently working on my PHYNIXX's debut album.
