*PROFILE: YOLANDA Y'AWA* *Yolanda Y'awa – Bella of Africa/Speaker/Singer/Fashion Designer* Yolanda Yawa's exquisite voice and captivating stage presence, along with her extensive repertoire, makes her one of SA's sought after performers. Multi-talented Yolanda hails from Gugulethu in Cape Town, and until recently was best known as the dynamic lead singer from Coda with whom she performed at many prestigious events, both locally and abroad, for over three years. She has recently received an honor of being the only South African performer to showcase at POPKOMM 2011, in Berlin, Germany. Within the first year the band was nominated as one of the five bands for the Top Billing/Momentum Awards in 2007, and Yolanda reveled with her new-found ability to reach millions with her voice, words and sense of worth as an African woman. Having left CODA to fulfill her long-held dream of becoming a successful Solo performer and Entrepreneur, Yolanda launched her solo debut album CrossOva at the end of March 2011. Yolanda has also travelled around the world with Women Unite Marimba Band, Tucan Tucan Afro-latin Band and Coda as ambassadors for South Africa.We have also seen her invited to perform at prestigious events like the Shoprite/Checkers Women of the Year Awards, Table of Unity, Ubuntu Mandela Gala Dinner, sharing the stage with amazing SA artist like Abigail Kubeka, Parlotones, Vicky Sampson, Danny K, Sibongile Mngoma, just to name a few. Yolanda is also an accomplished fashion designer and business entrepreneur.
