I have been working freelance in the music industry since 1993 and have contributed to music productions for the recording studio/label R & A Records (LC 07974)/Mürschter Musikhaus GmbH and independently. After my main activity since 1999 was as a live musician with various (cover) bands, I further expanded my recording studio in 2020 due to the Corona pandemic (32 simultaneous tracks, RME, Midas, DDA and Roland preamps, SPL outboard mastering) and decided to focus on music production. In January 2021, I began studying sound engineering and music production at the "HOFA College" to further deepen my knowledge and bring it up to date. Since then, I have successfully completed all state-certified HOFA courses, such as Audio Engineer (PRO), Mastering, Music Business, Vocals, Live Sound Engineering, and Vintage, and graduated with a diploma in December 2022. As a music producer, I have since spent four months working with professional musicians/artists on the EP "Michael Hilbel's GLOBALPLAYER - Stones" (World Music) to create a benchmark for my skills. This project was supported by a stipendium from GVL + NEUSTARTKULTUR and has been released on major streaming and download providers and available on CD since May 2022. I produced twelve tracks for the singer-songwriter "Christian Maier" (known from the Bavarian music cabaret trio "Da Huawa da Maier und I") from August 2022 to March 2024. The solo album "Christian Maier - Beste Zeiten" was released in July 2024 on Konstantin Wecker's label "Sturm & Klang." I have built a network of great musicians with exceptional instruments and am very interested in combining different genres. My special qualities are my emotional perception and a clear vision of authentic sound. As an "artistic producer" on behalf of the artists/labels, I am responsible for the artistic, musical, and technical coordination in the production of music recordings. The recording studio is located in a wooden house with a large garden, kitchen, and sauna in the beautifully tranquil Großbardorf, Rhön/Grabfeld region (Germany), and is powered by renewable energy. I am happy to arrange accommodation for artists. Tiny houses in nature, camping in the garden or campsite, motorhomes on your doorstep, guesthouses or hotels with pools can all be arranged locally. Currently, I'm increasingly touring live as a bassist again. My current projects include the country & southern rock band "Southern Hills" and the new 70s german-schlager cult show "Fredy Blanco & die Schlaghosen." Michael Hilbel's GLOBALPLAYER Simply open the borders? Musically, it's possible! Since 2012, I've been initiating various creative music projects under this motto. I play and produce with DJs, jazz, classical, rock, pop, and folk musicians, combining different genres and impressions that I've gathered on extensive travels abroad. World music is probably the most appropriate term. The sound of my rare hybrid sitar, a mixture of electric guitar and Indian sitar, is "simply beautiful", immediately captivating, and I enjoy using it.
