Blue Butterfly is a project that draws its signature sound from a plethora of Electronic music genres: Goth Rock, Synthpop, Electro, Industrial, EBM (Electronic Body Music), Futurepop and Darkwave . The Lyrics are mainly concerned with conspiracy theories and recent international socio-political trends. The group was formed in 2007 by Marcus Coelho [Vocals / Programming] and J.P Manoeli [Keyboards / Backing Vocals]. Themselves well established musicians and composers in the Brazilian Goth Rock scene of the Nineties. Israel Brito [Programming / Producer /Keyboards] joined the group in 2009, helping to propel their artistic vision with the thrust provided by synthesizers, vocoders and samplers, mainly inspired by Industrial and EBM acts, as well as electronic music precursors such as Kraftwerk and the British Synth Pop Wave groups of the early Eighties. In 2008 they released their first independent EP “Poison Planet”, an electro-industrial melodic Cacotopia. Their next release, 2010’s “World of Manipulation”, reinforces the highly successful mélange between the seamless disparate elements of hard industrial beats, structured melodic Synth Pop arrangements, Goth Rock vocals and Neo Cyber Punk's Conspiracy Theories driven lyrics, which became the trademark of the Band. Blue Butterfly has recently opened the Show of HOCICO in Rio de Janeiro and is in the final production stage of its new EP: “Occupy Wall Street”, which will be released in January 2012.
