Founded in 2001, the Quinteto de Metais de Gaia presents as founding members professional instrumentalists who met through contact at the musical academic level. Since 2001 he has been presenting a regular work towards the improvement of chamber music and its performance on stage. Currently being the official Metal Quintet of the University of Porto, it has also performed on the most diverse stages and festivities across the country and Europe. The repertoire performed reverts to a wide variety of styles and periods, from baroque to contemporary music. The Quinteto de Metais de Gaia also performs recreations of Portuguese popular music in arrangements that make its performance innovative and completely suitable for the formation of a metal quintet.
