Ash is a Robot is a post-hardcore band from Setúbal, Portugal, formed by Cláudio Anibal, Renato Sousa, Francisco Caetano, Gonçalo Santos and Bernardo Pacheco Pereira. Having started in mid-2012, everything just clicked and happened very fast. After touring extensively in our home country as well as Spain, our band, which includes members from several known Portuguese underground acts like Monogono, Ella Palmer, Marte, Porn Sheep Hospital, Beautiful Venom, wants to take the energetic and diverse sound to a broader audience. The first studio album to be released by the record label Raging Planet / Sons Urbanos, encloses a mixture of modern post-hardcore and more classic rock and roll, favoring rock riffs over metal. It is truly a record without borders, where each track combines different influences, styles and tastes. Ash is a Robot live performances have been acclaimed by the Portuguese underground audience and media, with their strong commitment to honoring the quality and energy of the bands that influence their sound (from Refused to King Crimson, Converge to Sparta). Being a band with only one year, Ash Is A Robot have 70 concerts in they history in nacional and internacional territory. In 2014 they will have a UK Tour and a Iberian Tour, and they are already cooking the next Tour that’s gonna be European. They shared the stage with many underground international acts like We ride (Spain), Funeral for a Friend (England), H2O (USA), Bury Tomorrow (England), Strife (USA), Vera Cruz (France), Nations Afire (USA), This routine is hell (Holland), Give em Blood (Austria), Devil In me (Portugal), For the Glory (Portugal), Hills Have Eyes (Portugal), The Year (Portugal), Red Square Scenario (Austria), Now Voyager(Belgium), Wake The Dead (France) and No Omega (Sweden). We were considered the third best act by Balcony TV Lisbon (Portugal). They played at two of the biggest festivals in Europe, Optimus Alive 2013 (Portugal) and Sziget 2013 (Hungary), and they had Spanish Tour to promote their debut album in September. In January they are going to do their first UK Tour ever.
