Since 2005, Richard Hussein has headed the local department for EMI Music Arabia based in Dubai and has signed some of the biggest local Artists and developed some of the biggest compilation brands in the region. Richard Hussein career began as prominent DJ/Radio presenter in the most prestigious nightclubs and on key community radio stations in Australia where he did this up until 2005. In addition he had his own music management company in the early 1990’s which represented and managed Australian pop bands. Richard Hussein’s record business began in 1996 where he did an internship with BMG music in 1996 for six months which was part of his completion of his music business degree. In 1998 he joined the largest independent record label at that time named Zomba/Jive records in charge of International labels and A & R assistance until 2002. He worked with the biggest pop stars including Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, R Kelly, ATCQ and more. In 2003, Richard joined EMI Australia and worked in strategic marketing reporting to the head of Marketing. He was successful with creating brand partnerships and had many top 10 selling hits. In 2005 Richard moved to Dubai to head the local repertoire for EMI Music Arabia. Richard Hussein has signed key local Artists including Warda, Tamer Hosni, Ilham Al Madfai, Carol Samaha, Diana Hadad, Baha Sultan, Amr Mostafa, Jannat, Myriam, Ruby and many more. In addition he has created and developed key brands such as NOW that’s what I call Arabia since 2005, Sheesha Lounge, Best of bellybeats, Desert Lounge V2, V3 and V4, Amr Diab and Nancy Ajram Collectors editions and many more
