profilo personale
Founded in 2006, Akentra is a French band led by singer Lucia Ferreira, bassist Stéphane Rayot, and drummer Steve Tilmant. After releasing their first EP, IV IV IV (2009), strongly influenced by gothic music, the band gradually evolved toward a heavier rock-metal sound with the albums Asleep (2010) and Alive (2014). Both albums were recorded at Dôme Studio with producer David Potvin, known for his work with bands such as One Way Mirror, Lyzanxia, and Phaze I. This collaboration gave Akentra a polished and powerful production, further strengthening the band’s musical identity. In 2024, Akentra returned as a trio with the album AK3, a pop-metal project driven by prominent bass lines and exploring themes of heartbreak, disillusionment, and feminism. The music video for Superhero marked a visual turning point for the band, embracing a more playful and colorful aesthetic, far removed from the dark codes of gothic imagery. 2026 is shaping up to be a key year for Akentra: the band is preparing a brand-new live show to support AK3 while also working on a forthcoming album, which will feature a highly personal cover of Bad Guy by Billie Eilish.
