Gabriele Skarda can look back upon 40 years in the music business as a national as well as an International artist agent, artist manager, local promoter, project manager and co-owner of a record label and is up to this day a much sought-after lecturer at conferences and educational seminars. During the course of her multi-facetted career she was able to acquire vast expertise, extensive experience and practical implementation in various areas of the music business. She has worked with a multitude of illustrous artists with the focus on R&B, Rock 'n' Roll, blues, soul and Jazz such as: International Artists: Supercharge, Chuck Berry, Alvin Lee, Blues Brothers Band (USA), Fancy, The Tremeloes, Seachers, Jennifer Rush, Chris Norman, B.B. King, Bob Lockwood, Chris Jagger, Gotthard, Clarence Clemons, Anna Mwale, Eric Burdon, Felicia Weathers, Larry Coryell, Precious Wilson, Sweet Soul Music Revue, Peter Marvey just to name a few. Domestic Artists: Michael Holm, Münchner Freitheit, Guildo Horn, Cagey Strings, Soulkitchen, Peter Maffay, Barbara Dennerlein, Klaus Ammann Orchestra any many more. Gaby Skarda was responsible for the international management of the Liverpool based band Supercharge for 11 years and lead them to great popularity in Germany. For 7 years she was personal manager to the late Alvin Lee (guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and founder of the band Ten Years After). During this time Gaby Skarda was General Manager of a co-owned label with international dealings for 8 years, conceived and organized customer related events, always attempting to put the emphasis on newcomer artist development. In the mid-90's and inspired by her various trips to the USA, Skarda decided to put her knowledge down on paper and wrote a seminar concept specifically for artist agencies so that newcomers in the busines could benfit from her expertise and also learn from her mistakes. In the years to follow many other seminar topics and several lectures on the various problems of the music and event business followed which led to her first nationwide book publication in 2010. To explain my diverse field of activity and my qualification in detail, as follows is a chronological list of the most important milestones of my career: I am listed as a consultant with KfW (Middle Class Bank of Germany) which is responsible for the allocation of funding from the European Social Fund. Since 2003 - Honorary Chairman of the „Friends of Mentally Sick e.V.“ in Starnberg. We support patients with mental disorders and support cultural tours etc. for this group. Since 2005 - Honorary commitee member at committees examinations for economists, Event Management Assistants and Event Managers at the Munich Chamber of Commerce As well as Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce. Since 2008 - Lecturer at the University of Music in Munich on the topic of music market analysis Do-it-Yourself marketing for musicians, tour organization, legal framework in the live music field plus the work of an artist agency Nov. 2010 - Publication of my first book "The Artist Agency - Basics & Practice" published by „Musikmarkt“ Verlag, Munich As follows is a list of the lectures and seminars written by me and to this day continuosly held by me on the event field:  Intensive Seminar "ARTIST AGENT / BOOKING" this workshop is conducted in Stuttgart, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt, Vienna and Zurich for Music Business Managers.  Two-day intensive seminar "TOUR SETTLEMENT" A complete case study, starting with financial planning of a tour, risk diversification, musicians' payment and accounting of a tour by income/profit balance.  Half-day seminar on "TELEPHONE SALES" (tailored to the music and entertainment industry)  Full-day intensive seminar "RELAXATION TRAINING & IMAGINATIONS" (designed for those who want to improve their efficiency)  One-day workshop on "Self-promotion of artists" with PR measures, correct info material acquisition of gigs etc. (Also available as a 2 hour presentation)  Half-day seminar on "Entertainment for Events" How and where to find artists/acts for my event? Inquiries and artists' fees? Which act fits which event? What kind of terms are important?  One-Day seminar on "sponsorship and promotion of culture" How and where to find sponsors from the private sector. How to acquire public funding (Cultural Development). What different opportunities are there and what is the application process.  Two-day workshop "Case study on presenting a Cultural Award" Planning, cost calculation, carrying out and accounting of such events, Sponsor acquisition and promotion for such an event.  Two-day seminar "The successful road to your own company in the music and event industry“ from business plan, to tax issues, Government agencies, the business idea to the realization of becoming self-employed.  Half-day seminar on "Legal regulations and fees applicable at events, "such as GEMA, KSK and foreign taxes  One-day seminar "Artist Management" in which the multiple tasks of a manager, the contractual arrangements and the liability are described. (Also available as a 1.5 hour lecture possible)  Two-day seminar "Planning, preparation, and wrapping-up events" according to Chamber of Commerce regulations for Event Manager LECTURES:  2-hour presentation at the „Federal Rock & Pop“ Award Ceremony on the topic: ARTIST AGENT  2-hour presentation at the Frankfurt Music Fair on the topic: ARTIST MANAGEMENT  2-hour presentation at the Film and Media Academy in Ludwigsburg about: Character / KSK / ALIENS CONTROL  1 1/2 hour lecture on "Coaching" and the various ways to acquire state funds for „start up“ entrepreneurs.  1 1/2 hour lecture on the subject of "Self-promotion of artists“ and "Calculation and execution of events and tours" at the University of Music in Munich EDUCATION AND DIPLOMAS FROM THE GERMAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE:  Certified Event Management Assistant in Planing and carrying out events, cost calculation, artist booking and artist management, sponsoring and legal regulations (KSK, GEMA; GVL)  Certified Event Manager in Planning, preparation, carrying out and wrapping up events  Certified Music Manager by the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce in planning, organizing, executing and completing events.
