Pale Music was started in 2000 by Steve Morell in London. Steve always moved back and forth between Berlin and London before finally settling in Berlin in 2001 because he felt that „London was kind of sleeping at that time“. When he recognized what was happening in the early days of the new century in Berlin with many people moving there and starting to work there, he knew he had to put all his energy into Pale Music. Berlin captured the spirit of London in the late 70s & early 80s. Steve started in the 80s as a DJ in famous Berlin underground clubs like Trash, Blockshock, Ex & Pop, etc. Later in the 90´s he found that every kind of music he liked was becoming more and more boring. Pop turned into a stupid phrase. Everything seemed to be unreal. So he began DJing new kinds of music such as Peaches, T.Raumschmiere, EBM, modern New Wave, Electro & same Techno, Bootlegs & Rock´n Roll. After the first record „Psychomania“ in 2001, which was still EBM/Industrial influenced, he had the idea to produce a CD reflecting the REAL Berlin Underground. He asked people he knew from the past and people he met in the Berlin scene for tracks to do the first „Berlin Insane“ compilation in 2003. Mocky, Peaches, Gonzales, Kid & Khan, Stereo Total and many others connected with the concept and it seemed to be something that the whole of Berlin had been waiting for...

Pale Music Int. is according to media voices the no°1 underground electro-punk-rock&avantgarde label from berlin, releasing bands such as Neonman, PunxSoundcheck, Goldfish, Glamour to Kill and working with icons like Peaches, Marc Almond, Steve Strange and Boy George (to name just a few). Head of company, Steve Morell himself together with business partner Emma Eclectic, are 'The Scandals', a DJ&producer team playing international venues such as 333, Nag Nag Nag, Madame JoJo´s, Turnmills (London), Le Garage & Elastico (Madrid), Fellini (Barcelona), Los Ninos (Brussels), Recycle (Brussels), Hive (Zurich), Das Schiff (Basel), Hotel Shanghai (Essen), Salon des Amateurs (Düsseldorf), Rocker 33 (Stuttgart), K& K Klub (München), Duplex (Praque), Abaton (Praque), Fleda (Brno), Rust (Copenhagen), O3 (Amsterdam), and clubs all over Berlin including residencies at Rio & White Trash, Maria, 103 Club, Rafgier, Vice Launch Parties, Berlin Festival, Sonar and many more (releases in 2007: Cutouts, Patchworks & Rip Offs Remixalbum; The Scandals & Eric D. Clark / Summer Cruising EP). Pale Music also is the initatior and organisator of BERLIN INSANE, a yearly mega music event/festival, each compiled on CD, which after 4 years has become CULT not just in Berlin, but most of Europe.
