Press Information about the Media_Gate: Media_Gate, the innovative event format of Popkomm, the platform for forward-looking digital music services, where members of the industry gather, discuss and present new music entertainment services, has landed at Berlin-Tempelhof. From 7 to 9 September Popkomm, the internationally established industry meeting place of the music and entertainment industry, will will be taking place on the grounds of Berlin’s former main airport. Panel discussions with high-ranking industry members “With Popkomm Media_Gate we aim to present the new opportunities that the digital music business offers. We are greatly looking forward to consumer electronics representatives of BITKOM attending the panel discussions, which will enable trends and market potential to be highlighted from an analytical point of view“, says Manuel Gerres, Head of Business Development, of the Berlin agency Seedlab, which developed the Media_Gate event format. The Geman Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media (BITKOM) will preview the latest technological developments and trends of the future. The focus will also be on presenting and taking a look at newly emerging cloud streaming business models for marketing artists and music via mobile platforms, as well as at the strategic, long-term use of social media and social commerce tools. At the Mobile Panel Discussion the latter will offer a look at the opportunities for communication and sales in this fast-growing sector. ”We are also looking forward to Holger G. Countdown for the Popkomm Media_Gate Conference Day On 7 September, the latest developments in social commerce will be presented at a special panel discussion at the Popkomm Media_Gate Conference Day. The launch of the Media_Gate Conference Day will specifically focus on the industry’s potential for exploiting social media platforms as a new source for marketing artists and labels. Adrian Thoma of sellaround.net will highlight this aspect in her keynote. Alexander Mazzara, the man behind ”Joiz“, Switzerland’s new cross-media music channel, will talk about the future of music TV and innovative media formats. Other topics: transparency in the music consumer’s future use of technical systems and investment in the so-called capital panel.
